HMRC Registration: A Powerful New Qualification for PB First in the UAE
HMRC has recently introduced a new registration procedure for professional firms that wish to formally represent and liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients. Without this registration, firms can no longer act for clients in their dealings with HMRC.
The requirements are notably stringent and represent a significant step beyond the current approach adopted by the UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for advisers representing clients in the UAE.
We are therefore delighted to announce that PB First has now successfully registered with HMRC.
This is a major achievement for PB First and an important qualification for a UAE-based tax advisory firm. It gives us the authority to represent clients directly in their dealings with HMRC, including objecting to tax assessments, managing correspondence and lodging appeals where required.
Importantly, our clients do not need to be based in the UAE. We can support businesses and individuals internationally with their UK tax obligations and HMRC disputes. However, the fact that this capability is being delivered from the UAE makes this a particularly significant development for the UAE and wider GCC business community.
A UK HMRC capability, delivered from the UAE
PB First FZ-LLC is developing into a dedicated, home-grown professional tax advisory firm in the UAE, with our team soon to comprise 12 tax advisers, including four Tax PhDs.
Our HMRC registration means we can now act for international clients across the full spectrum of UK tax matters, from smaller individual cases through to complex issues involving substantial businesses and international groups.
We believe this registration will be an increasingly powerful qualification for a UAE-based tax advisory firm. It demonstrates that PB First has met HMRC's requirements to formally represent clients and provides our clients with an additional level of confidence when dealing with the UK tax authority.
We are particularly proud to bring this capability to the UAE and GCC, giving businesses, investors, HNWIs and international clients access to specialist UK tax representation without needing to appoint an adviser based in the UK.
For PB First, this is a significant milestone. For our clients, it provides a powerful new capability when dealing with HMRC.
